Aji Amarillo Pepper Plants

A staple in Peruvian cuisines, the Aji Amarillo pepper, also known as the yellow chili pepper, is native to Peru and is useful in a wide variety of Peruvian and Spanish dishes. The pepper seedlings grow up to be 3 ft. tall and produce 4-5″ long pepper pods. These Aji peppers change colors from green to bright orange as they mature, with thick flesh and smooth skin. You’ll enjoy the Aji Amarillo’s unique fruity flavor which consists of passion fruit and mango, with a bit of heat. It’s most common in Peruvian culture where it is used as a paste, called the Aji Amarillo paste. You can’t go wrong adding this pepper to any dish. It’s delicious in sauces, salsas, powders, salads, and more.
